0:01 the moon was so bright last night it could have read a book all by itself0:08 it was almost as bright as that little firefly lily found remember the one that turned her bedroom into a secret disco well tonight's adventure starts in a room that was just as quiet at first leo was tucked in bed snug as a bug in a brand new rug his breathing was soft and slow the only other sound0:33 was the old grandfather clock downstairs going tock tick tock tick his big blue curtains were perfectly still the window behind them was cracked just a tiny bit letting in a sliver of cool night air everything was peaceful0:57 too peaceful that's when he heard it whispering rustle shuffle swish leo's eyes popped open the sound was coming from the curtains he stared into the darkness but he couldn't see a thing he pulled his blanket right up to his nose so only his eyes peeked out what could it be a curtain monster1:27 maybe with long velvety arms and dusty fingers or maybe a shadow that got tired of lying on the floor and decided to go for a climb1:41 the rustling stopped1:45 leo held his breath silence he slowly lowered his blanket maybe he just imagined it russell swish tap woah a tap monsters don't usually tap they stomp or squelch tapping was polite but still spooky leo's heart was beating like a little drum thump thump2:15 thump he thought about calling for mom or dad but then he remembered how brave lily was she wasn't scared of a glowing bug she made a friend he could be brave too this was his room and he was in charge here he made a decision he was going to solve the mystery of the rustling curtains he reached2:37 over and grabbed his flashlight from his nightstand his trusty sword of light he clicked it on a bright circle of light jumped onto the ceiling okay he was ready he swung his legs out of bed the floor was chilly on his bare feet he took one tiptoe step then another he felt like a super spy on a2:58 secret mission he crept closer and closer to the window the rustling had stopped again it was waiting for him he reached the big blue curtain he could feel his heart thumping in his chest he took a deep breath aimed his sword of a light and with one quick move yank he pulled the curtain aside3:22 and there sitting on the wide window sill was a monster3:34 nope a ghost not even close it was a tiny fluffy kitten it had enormous green eyes and a little pink nose that twitched it must have climbed a tree and hopped in through the open window in its paws it was batting at the little wooden bead on the end of the curtain pull cord that was the tapping3:59 the kitten looked up at leo blinked slowly and let out the smallest sound mew which is kitten language for oh hi took you long enough leo started to giggle the spooky feeling melted away like ice cream on a hot day he wasn't scared he was a hero a discoverer he had found a secret fluffy friend he gently4:23 scooped up the kitten it was so light and warm and as soon as he held it it started to purr a deep rumbly sound like a tiny happy motor leo carried the purring kitten out to his parents and they made it a cozy bed in a box for the night when leo was tucked back into his own4:42 bed he listened no more rustling no more tapping just the soft happy purr of his new friend from the other side of the room he closed his eyes a big smile on his face the curtains were just curtains again and the night was full of quiet adventures and sleepy purring sounds
