0:00 Prometheus, the physical AI startup co-founded by Jeff Bezos, just raised eighteen-point-two BILLION dollars in eight months.0:06 In yesterday's episode, we talked about major market shifts, but this is not a shift — this is an earthquake.0:12 We are watching a new category of company get built in real time, with a firehose of cash that makes the dot-com boom look like a lemonade stand.0:20 And that's just the start.0:21 It is a HUGE morning.0:23 Powerlaw Corp just announced they're adding Prometheus to their portfolio, alongside Shield AI, whose autonomy software is already going into U.S.0:31 Air Force programs.0:32 Then you have Walden Robotics hitting the scene today with three hundred million dollars in launch funding from Toyota, NVIDIA, and Boeing.0:39 They're not talking about prototypes; they're talking about deploying general-purpose robots IMMEDIATELY.0:45 Meanwhile, the AGI Summit kicks off today in San Francisco, and the new title sponsor is GPU.ai — they're expecting fifteen thousand people.0:52 Oh, and in the "quietly getting ready to blow up the public markets" department, Anthropic, the company behind Claude, is prepping for an IPO as soon as October.1:01 The rumored valuation?1:02 ONE.1:03 TRILLION.1:03 DOLLARS.1:03 Even the medical world is getting a jolt — Milestone Scientific is launching an AI platform called Milo today to completely rewire how MedTech companies sell their gear.1:13 It is ALL happening.1:14 Okay, let's unpack those two biggest numbers, because they tell you everything you need to know about where the money and the power are going.1:21 First, that Prometheus number.1:23 Eighteen-point-two billion dollars.1:25 In eight months.1:26 A twelve billion dollar round in June valued the company at forty-one billion.1:30 This isn't a software company making a clever chatbot.1:33 This is PHYSICAL AI.1:34 This is the same current that's powering Walden Robotics.1:37 For years, we've seen incredible videos of robots doing backflips or sorting boxes.1:42 But it was always a demo.1:43 It was always "coming soon." Well, "soon" is over.1:46 It's here.1:46 The money from investors like Toyota and Boeing isn't for research.1:50 It's for DEPLOYMENT.1:51 Walden says their robots will "continuously learn and improve while performing real work." That's the key.1:57 The learning doesn't happen in a lab anymore.1:59 It happens on the factory floor, in the warehouse, out in the world.2:03 The venture capitalists are no longer betting on code; they are betting on KINETIC energy.2:08 On atoms.2:08 On things that move and do jobs in the real world.2:11 This is the biggest change in venture capital since the invention of the microchip.2:15 Then you have the other side of the coin.2:18 Anthropic.2:18 The pure software play.2:19 They are about to file for an IPO that could value them at one trillion dollars.2:24 One.2:24 Trillion.2:24 Let's put that in perspective.2:26 Their main product, Claude, has about ten percent of the AI platform market.2:30 Google's Gemini has twenty-two percent.2:32 And OpenAI's ChatGPT?2:33 Fifty percent.2:34 A full HALF of the market.2:36 So you have to ask the question.2:37 Is a company with one-fifth the market share of the leader really worth a trillion dollars?2:42 The market is about to answer that question.2:45 But here's the thing nobody's saying out loud: the valuation isn't about today's market share.2:50 It's a bet that this isn't a winner-take-all market.2:53 It's a bet that there's room for two, or maybe three, foundational AI models to power the entire global economy.2:59 And in that world, being the number two player isn't a failure.3:02 It's a license to print money for the next fifty years.3:05 The fight between Anthropic and OpenAI isn't just a business rivalry; it's a battle for the underlying operating system of the future.3:12 So you have these two massive waves of capital crashing onto the shore at the exact same time.3:17 One is pouring into the world of atoms — robots, drones, physical intelligence.3:22 The other is pouring into the world of bits — large language models, the soul of the new machine.3:27 For a long time, those were two separate worlds.3:30 Not anymore.3:30 The software finally has a body, and the money is following.
