0:00 Donald Trump announced on Friday that China hacked the 2020 election by stealing two hundred and twenty million voter records.0:08 Last week, as we discussed, the big story was him threatening to sink Iran's navy on social media.0:15 Apparently, he got bored with naval warfare and decided to pivot to cybercrime.0:21 So, the week in material.0:23 First, the big one.0:24 Two hundred and twenty million voter records.0:27 That’s not a data breach.0:29 That’s a census.0:30 China, of course, denies it.0:32 But the number is incredible.0:34 It’s so specific.0:35 So...0:36 round.0:36 It’s the kind of number you come up with when you want to sound precise but haven't counted anything.0:43 Then, there was the flag situation.0:46 The President ordered all U.S.0:48 flags to half-staff from July twelfth to the eighteenth.0:52 In remembrance of Senator Lindsey Graham.0:55 It’s a somber, presidential gesture.0:57 But the week-long, nationwide order felt less like state mourning and more like a loyalty test written on a proclamation.1:06 And in between all that, he gave a speech at the Army War College.1:11 He called the president of Boeing the "total boss." He promised fifty-five-dollar oil.1:17 He reminded everyone that Obama said we’d never have another manufacturing job, which is a classic hit.1:24 He plays the oldies.1:26 You gotta respect the commitment.1:28 It’s like going to a Rolling Stones concert.1:31 You know you’re gonna hear "Satisfaction." So what does it all add up to?1:36 A firehose of pure, uncut, grade-A material.1:39 It’s almost too much.1:41 The writers' room is exhausted.1:43 Let's go back to the China claim.1:45 Because this is where the art is.1:48 Two hundred and twenty million.1:50 The U.S.1:50 has, what, two hundred and forty million eligible voters?1:54 So China basically got everyone.1:57 They got your record, my record, your cousin who only votes in presidential years, and probably three million people who accidentally registered twice at the DMV.2:08 It's COMPLETE.2:09 And this is where you see the pattern.2:12 This is just McCarthyism with bad Wi-Fi.2:15 Seriously.2:15 In the 1950s, you had to stand up and wave a piece of paper.2:20 You had to say, "I have here in my hand a list of 205 names." You needed props.2:25 It was theater.2:26 Trump doesn't need a list.2:28 He has a number.2:29 Just a big, beautiful number.2:31 It's so much more efficient.2:33 No names, no evidence, just an integer.2:36 It's genius, really.2:38 And the timing is, of course, a total coincidence.2:41 He’s pushing this SAVE America Act, an election bill that’s all about voter integrity, right before the midterms.2:49 So he needs a big, scary story about how insecure our elections are.2:54 And what’s scarier than the world’s largest country stealing ALL the data?2:59 It’s not a dog whistle.3:01 It’s an air raid siren.3:02 So you have the big, terrifying claim about China.3:06 You have the constant, low-grade rumble of him pushing this election bill.3:11 And you have these public appearances where he’s just… riffing.3:16 Calling executives the "total boss" and reliving his greatest hits against Obama.3:21 It’s a three-ring circus, and every ring is on fire.3:25 This isn't just a series of gaffes.3:28 It’s a strategy.3:29 The goal is to create so much noise, so much unbelievable nonsense, that you can't focus on any one thing.3:36 It's a denial-of-service attack on our collective sanity.3:40 And the punchline is, it works.3:43 Every week, we think it can't get more absurd.3:46 And every week, he finds a way.3:48 He’s not just providing material for comedians.3:51 He IS the material.3:53 The monologue is writing itself, in real time, from the Oval Office.
