0:00 Indian startup funding just hit seven-point-two billion dollars for the first half of 2026, a twelve percent jump.0:07 But here’s the twist — that money went into forty-three percent FEWER deals.0:12 Yesterday we talked about the deals that matter, Admin, and this new data shows the list of who those deals matter for is getting much, much shorter.0:22 So what else is moving?0:23 The Indian government just put another one-point-two-seven lakh crore rupees into its semiconductor plan, Semicon 2.0.0:31 That's on top of the seventy-six thousand crore from the first round.0:36 At the same time, the IndiaAI Mission is expanding its shared GPU capacity to over forty-five thousand units, all to build a sovereign AI compute base.0:46 It’s a massive state-led push into the deepest layers of tech infrastructure.0:51 And it’s not just the government.0:53 While big funding rounds are happening for companies like CtrlS and Navi, the broader picture is selective.1:00 Take spacetech.1:01 The sector pulled in two hundred million dollars last year, but three out of every four spacetech startups are still waiting for their first equity check.1:11 Capital is available, but it’s not flowing everywhere.1:15 Globally, the ground is shifting under the biggest players.1:19 Anthropic, one of the top AI labs, just announced it's moving away from renting cloud servers and will instead spend fifty billion dollars to build its OWN data center infrastructure.1:31 And to help companies do exactly that, Nvidia just confirmed a five hundred billion dollar financing platform with partners like BlackRock and Goldman Sachs, effectively letting companies use GPUs as collateral to build out their AI factories.1:47 Okay, let's go back to that funding paradox in India.1:50 More money, fewer deals.1:52 What's actually going on?1:54 A new report from Tracxn puts it perfectly: the ecosystem has traded "breadth for depth." The days of spraying capital across hundreds of consumer-focused startups are over.2:05 Investors are now concentrating much larger sums into a handful of more mature companies.2:11 And they aren't chasing the next social app.2:14 They're funding infrastructure and deep-tech.2:17 This isn't just a blip; it's a structural realignment of the entire market.2:22 So why is all the money suddenly chasing infrastructure?2:25 For the answer, you have to look at that move by Anthropic.2:29 They're at the absolute frontier of AI.2:32 And they've decided that renting compute from Amazon or Google is no longer a viable long-term strategy.2:39 Their CEO, Dario Amodei, said this fifty-billion-dollar spend is "necessary for infrastructure capable of supporting continued development at the frontier of AI." Think about that.2:51 The company building the most advanced AI models says it can't rely on the world's biggest cloud providers anymore.2:58 It needs to OWN the hardware.3:00 This is a massive vote of no-confidence in the rental model that built the cloud era.3:06 It’s a strategic shift from being a tenant to being a landlord.3:10 And when a company like Anthropic makes a fifty-billion-dollar move, every investor listens.3:16 This is where Nvidia’s new financing platform becomes so critical.3:20 It’s the other half of the equation.3:23 Anthropic wants to buy billions in chips, but doesn't want to burn all its cash upfront.3:29 Nvidia, along with Wall Street giants like Blackstone and KKR, just created a way to finance it.3:35 They are turning GPUs—the engines of AI—into a new asset class.3:39 You can now get a loan using your server racks as COLLATERAL.3:43 This fundamentally changes the economics of building AI at scale.3:47 It makes the "own, don't rent" strategy possible for more than just a handful of giants.3:53 So what you're seeing is a global pivot toward owning the foundational layers of technology.3:59 And the smartest money in India is following that signal.4:03 The government is underwriting the hardware layer with its semiconductor mission.4:08 The IndiaAI mission is creating sovereign compute.4:12 And venture capital is finally turning its attention from fleeting consumer trends to the durable, long-term value of deep-tech and infrastructure.4:21 The message from the market is clear.4:24 The era of funding a thousand different consumer apps is over.4:28 The real money, the strategic capital, is no longer betting on the next big app—it's betting on who will own the pipes, the chips, and the data centers that power ALL of them.
