0:00 An AI code review platform just raised one hundred and forty-three million dollars, hitting a one-point-five billion dollar valuation.0:08 In our last episode, we talked about AI's real impact on jobs, and a company called CodeRabbit just gave a VERY clear answer on where the smart money is betting that future is headed.0:19 But that's not the only big move.0:21 Here’s what else is shifting.0:23 Sachin Bansal’s fintech startup, Navi, is reportedly getting ready to file for an IPO again.0:28 The target is to raise as much as three thousand crore rupees, or about three hundred and fifteen million dollars, at a valuation that could hit two billion dollars.0:39 This is a revival of a plan that was put on hold, and they've already appointed JM Financial, Kotak, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan as advisors.0:47 So this isn't just talk; the machinery is being assembled.0:51 And speaking of capital, there's more of it coming.0:54 Mirae Asset Venture just announced the first close of a new India-dedicated fund, pulling in one-thousand-one-hundred-and-twenty-five crore rupees.1:03 That's dry powder ready to be deployed right here.1:06 To put all this in perspective, though, you have to look at the global AI scene for a second.1:12 The numbers are just… staggering.1:14 The AI coding startup Cognition is in early talks for a new round that might value it at forty BILLION dollars.1:21 And the AI firm Databricks just bagged five billion in new funding at a valuation of one hundred and ninety billion dollars.1:28 The scale of capital chasing these foundational AI plays is on another planet.1:33 Okay, let's go back to that CodeRabbit deal, because it’s the one that really tells you something new.1:39 A one-point-five-billion-dollar valuation for an AI that reviews code.1:44 Why?1:44 What does that even mean?1:45 Think about how software gets built.1:48 A developer writes code, and then usually, a more senior developer has to spend hours reviewing it line-by-line to find errors, suggest improvements, and make sure it meets standards.1:59 It’s a huge bottleneck.2:00 It's expensive, it's slow, and it's what separates junior talent from senior talent.2:06 CodeRabbit isn't just a fancy spell-check.2:08 It's an AI agent designed to do that senior developer's job.2:12 Autonomously.2:13 This is a fundamental shift.2:14 For the past couple of years, the big story in AI for developers has been "copilots" — tools that help a human write code faster.2:22 This is different.2:23 This is about automating the review and quality control part of the process.2:28 The bet here isn't just on making developers more productive; it's a bet on needing fewer of the most expensive developers to manage the quality of the codebase.2:38 That one-point-five-billion-dollar price tag isn't for a software tool.2:42 It's for a future where the structure of a software team looks completely different.2:47 Now, let's switch gears to that other big ambition: Navi's IPO.2:51 This story is less about futuristic AI and more about old-school market dynamics.2:56 Sachin Bansal, the co-founder of Flipkart, has been building Navi for years, trying to create a tech-first financial services giant covering everything from personal loans to insurance.3:08 They were getting ready for an IPO before, but the plans were shelved.3:12 So why revive them now?3:13 The market is actually tougher.3:15 According to Bloomberg, companies have raised about seven billion dollars through IPOs in India so far this year.3:22 In all of 2025, that number was over twenty-two billion.3:26 So they're choosing to go public in a much, much cooler environment.3:30 Here’s the signal that sends: confidence.3:32 Bansal isn't just looking for a quick exit on a high-growth story.3:36 He's trying to build a durable, public-market institution.3:40 By appointing top-tier banks and targeting a December filing, Navi is signaling that its business — its actual fundamentals, its loan book, its path to profitability — is strong enough to withstand the scrutiny of a skeptical public market.3:55 It's a move that says, "We're not just a startup anymore.3:58 We're ready to be a pillar of the financial system." So you have these two massive, parallel stories playing out.4:05 One is a bet on pure AI automation that could radically restructure how technology itself is built.4:11 The other is a classic, ambitious play to build a massive, publicly-listed financial institution from the ground up.4:18 Both require huge amounts of capital, but they represent two very different visions for the future.4:24 The money isn't just following abstract hype; it's making very specific, very different bets on what the future of Indian tech actually looks like.
