0:00 Lot one on the block this morning: Microsoft just offered buyouts to roughly sixty thousand employees worldwide, cutting right through its Indian operations even as it pours twenty point five billion dollars into India's cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure.0:13 Last episode, we tracked how big money was chasing India's mega listings and AI funds.0:17 Today, the bill for that transition just hit the floor.0:20 Here is how the rest of the board is running across the room.0:23 Tata Communications is putting four hundred fifty million dollars into ten thousand kilometers of AI-ready fiber, wiring up the Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad-Chennai corridor to feed power-hungry data centers.0:33 Over in venture rounds, social gaming outfit Matiks pulled ten million dollars led by General Catalyst to launch a no-code AI game builder.0:40 Down the aisle, Unacademy co-founders Gaurav Munjal and Roman Saini are back with a seven hundred crore rupee vehicle called Longshot Capital, already holding three hundred crore in commitments after UpGrad scooped up Unacademy for two hundred million dollars.0:52 And homegrown phone makers Lava and Ai-Plus just grabbed a combined seven percent market share in the September quarter—an eight-year high as soaring memory chip costs forced Chinese budget rivals to retreat.1:03 Now let us bring lot one back to the center of the ring, because the spread on these numbers tells the real story.1:08 On one side of the ledger, Microsoft says it is committing twenty point five billion dollars between 2025 and 2029 for Indian data centers, operations, and training twenty million people in AI skills.1:18 On the other side, sixty thousand buyout packages are landing on desks across the United States and India.1:23 When you see twenty billion go into server racks while tens of thousands of corporate seats clear out, that is not a routine belt-tightening cycle.1:31 That is a balance sheet reallocating capital from human payroll straight into compute.1:35 You see the exact same friction playing out in venture capital.1:38 Hitachi Ventures is aggressively stepping into Indian deeptech across AI, energy, and advanced manufacturing—following players like Qualcomm Ventures and Sony Innovation Fund.1:47 But their partners are already sounding the whistle on runaway entry valuations and murky exit doors.1:52 A recent survey shows successful startups emerging from India's top twenty-five business schools jumped sixty percent year over year.1:58 The pipeline of young founders is surging, but corporate money is refusing to bid up prices blindly just because a deck says AI.2:04 Now, keep in mind, this is reporting and our own market take, not investment advice.2:09 Hammer's down.2:09 Now let me tell you what that actually was.2:11 Capital is not leaving India's tech ecosystem—it is just getting wildly selective about what it pays for.2:17 Infrastructure, fiber, and core compute are getting blank checks, while traditional headcount and inflated early-stage valuations are getting marked down hard.2:24 A price is just the last person who wanted it more, and right now, the only thing everyone wants to buy is processing power.
