0:00 More than forty million adults in the United States live with an anxiety disorder.0:06 That's nearly one in five people.0:09 In our last episode, we talked about trusting God’s guidance in the small and large decisions of your day.0:17 But that trust can feel a thousand miles away when fear is shouting in your ear.0:23 So this morning, I want to share a direct promise for that feeling.0:28 Here is the word of the Lord from Isaiah, chapter forty-one, verse ten.0:34 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.0:40 I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.0:46 Okay.0:47 Let's sit with that for a moment.0:49 Not as a nice thought, but as a direct promise made to YOU.0:54 There are three distinct commitments from God in this single verse, and each one is designed to meet a specific kind of fear you might be facing today.1:06 The first commitment is about presence.1:09 "Do not fear, for I am with you." Notice it doesn't say "Do not fear, because there's nothing to be afraid of." The Bible is realistic about the world.1:21 There ARE things that cause fear — a difficult conversation, a scary diagnosis, an uncertain future.1:28 The command not to fear isn't a dismissal of your feelings.1:33 It's grounded in a fact: "I am with you." Here's what that means for you.1:39 It means you are not walking into that meeting alone.1:43 You are not sitting in that waiting room alone.1:47 You are not staring at that screen late at night, worrying, alone.1:52 The fear might be real, but your isolation is an illusion.1:56 God's presence is the intervening reality.2:00 The answer to the fear of being overwhelmed is the promise of accompaniment.2:06 He is WITH you.2:07 Right now.2:08 The second commitment is about provision.2:11 "I will strengthen you and help you." This is God's answer to the fear of inadequacy.2:17 The fear that says, "I don't have what it takes." I don't have the energy, the wisdom, the patience, the resources.2:26 We all feel that.2:28 We all hit the limit of our own strength.2:31 Here's what this promise means for you today.2:35 The strength you need for the task ahead is not a resource you have to dig up from within yourself.2:42 It's a gift you receive.2:44 God doesn't just cheer you on from the sidelines; the verse says He will actively "strengthen you" and "help you." This is an active intervention.2:56 It means you can ask for help when you feel weak.2:59 It means you can step into a challenge knowing that the power to meet it comes from a source beyond you.3:08 It’s not about your capability.3:10 It's about His.3:11 And that brings us to the third commitment.3:15 It's about security.3:16 "I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This is the most tender and powerful image of the three.3:25 Think about what it means to uphold something.3:28 It means to support it, to keep it from falling.3:32 The hand that holds you is not just any hand; it's a "righteous right hand." In that culture, the right hand signified authority, power, and covenant faithfulness.3:45 So here's what that means when you feel like you're slipping.3:49 When you feel like you've failed, or you're about to fail.3:54 It means your ultimate stability does NOT depend on your grip.3:59 It depends on His.4:00 A righteous hand will not drop you.4:03 A righteous hand will not fail.4:05 It is a secure anchor in the chaos.4:08 Your footing might be unsteady, but you are held by a hand that is unshakable.4:14 So today, when fear speaks—and it will—remember the three promises you have been given.4:21 The promise of His presence, the promise of His provision, and the promise of His protection.4:28 The invitation isn't to pretend you're not afraid.4:32 The invitation is to know that you are not alone in your fear, you are not unequipped for the day, and you will not be dropped.4:42 Fear does not get the final word.4:45 God's presence does.
