The writer here is in a place of deep sorrow.0:51 The book is literally called "Lamentations." He is not writing this from a mountaintop.0:58 He’s writing from a valley.1:00 And in that valley, he finds the one thing that keeps him from being completely overwhelmed, from being consumed by his circumstances.1:11 It isn't his own strength.1:13 It isn't a change in his situation.1:16 It's the Lord's great love.1:18 Here’s what that means for you, right now, as you start your day.1:23 If you woke up this morning feeling the weight of yesterday… maybe a mistake you made, a conversation that went wrong, or a task left undone… the verse says you are not consumed by it.1:38 That failure or frustration does not get the final word.1:42 The final word is love.1:44 And that love is the anchor that holds you secure, even when the waves of regret or anxiety are high.1:52 It’s not something you have to generate.1:56 It’s simply there.1:57 Then the writer gives us the mechanics of how this works.2:02 He says God’s compassions—His mercies—never fail.2:06 And then the most practical line in the whole Bible for starting your day: "They are new every morning."
