0:00 The first thought that comes to mind in the morning is often a list.0:05 A list of everything that needs to get done, everyone you need to be, every problem that was waiting for you when you went to sleep.0:16 In our last time together, we talked about finding stillness in the middle of that noise, drawing from the invitation to "be still." But sometimes the challenge isn't just being still, it's finding the strength to move at all.0:34 It's about how to get up and face that list with something other than your own dwindling energy.0:41 There’s a promise for that kind of morning, found in the book of Isaiah.0:47 It says: but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.1:01 So what does that really mean for you, right now, as this day begins?1:07 Let’s look at the pieces.1:09 It starts with a condition.1:11 "They who wait for the Lord." Waiting feels passive.1:15 It feels like doing nothing.1:17 But in this context, waiting is an active posture.1:21 It’s a choice to look to a source of strength outside of yourself.1:26 It's turning your attention, even for a moment, from the demands of the day to the one who holds the day.1:35 Here's what that means if you're feeling depleted before your feet even hit the floor.1:42 It means the instruction isn't to "try harder." The instruction is to "wait." To hope.1:49 To expect that strength will be given to you.1:52 It redefines where your energy comes from.1:56 It’s not about mustering strength, but receiving it.2:00 Then comes the first promise: "they shall mount up with wings like eagles." This is about perspective.2:08 An eagle doesn't fight against the wind.2:11 It uses the currents to lift it higher.2:14 It soars above the turmoil on the ground.2:17 Here's what that means if you're already feeling stuck in the weeds of a problem.2:24 This verse is an invitation to rise above it.2:28 To let a power greater than your own frustration give you a new vantage point.2:34 It’s the promise that you can be lifted above the thing that is trying to keep you grounded in worry or anxiety.2:43 You get to see the whole landscape, not just the tangled path right in front of you.2:49 And finally, the part that meets us in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday.2:55 "They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." Notice it gives two speeds.3:03 Running and walking.3:04 Some days are a sprint.3:06 They demand everything you have, a burst of energy for a short, intense period.3:12 Other days are a long, slow march.3:15 A marathon of endurance where the goal is just to keep putting one foot in front of the other.3:23 The promise covers BOTH.3:25 It’s not just for the heroic, noticeable sprints.3:29 It’s also for the quiet, unnoticed walks.3:32 Here's what that means for your day.3:35 It means that whatever pace today requires of you, there is strength available for it.3:42 If you have to run, you will not grow weary.3:45 And if you must simply walk, you will not faint.3:49 It is a profound promise of endurance, tailored for the exact speed of your life today.3:56 This isn't about a sudden burst of superhuman energy.4:00 It’s about a quiet, renewable resource.4:03 A strength that doesn’t burn out.4:06 So as you face the list, as you step into the demands of this day, remember that your capacity is not the final word.4:15 Your endurance is not limited to what you can manufacture on your own.4:21 Your strength for today doesn't come from your own reserves.4:26 It comes from a hope that meets you, and renews you, right where you are.
