It doesn’t say the Lord is like a shepherd.0:59 It says He IS one.1:00 And not just a shepherd in general, but my shepherd.1:05 It’s personal.1:06 This is something a lot of people find confusing at first.1:11 They think it means we are supposed to be thoughtless, just blindly following.1:18 But that's missing a beautiful piece of the picture.1:23 To have a shepherd means you are personally cared for.1:28 It means someone with a wider view, who knows the landscape, is watching over your path.1:36 A shepherd knows where the dangers are hidden.1:40 A shepherd knows the way to green pastures and quiet waters, the places of rest and nourishment.1:48 So here's what that means for you today.1:52 It means you are not navigating the hours ahead on your own.1:57 You are not responsible for knowing every threat, or for finding your own sustenance from scratch.2:06 Your job is to trust the Shepherd.2:09 To listen for His voice.2:11 To stay near to Him.2:13 It's a willing surrender, a choice to be led by someone who loves you perfectly and knows the way home.2:22 It means that in the middle of a meeting, or in a difficult conversation, or just sitting in traffic… you are being guided.2:33 You are being protected.2:35 Then comes the second part of the verse.2:39 It's the direct result of the first.2:42 Because the Lord is your shepherd… "I shall not want."
