0:00 Good morning.0:01 Sometimes the path forward feels hidden, doesn't it?0:05 In our last time together, we found comfort in the promise from Isaiah...0:11 the one that says we do not need to fear, because God is with us.0:17 That promise of His presence is a source of incredible strength.0:22 Today, we turn to a different kind of promise.0:26 It’s not just about presence, but about purpose.0:30 It’s a promise about the path itself.0:34 It comes from a letter, written by the prophet Jeremiah, to a people who felt completely and utterly lost.0:43 They were in exile, far from home, and they believed their story was over.0:49 This is what God said to them, and what He says to you this morning.0:55 From the book of Jeremiah, chapter twenty-nine, verse eleven: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Let’s just sit with that for a moment.1:15 This wasn't a casual, feel-good sentiment.1:19 This was a lifeline.1:21 These people were convinced that God had forgotten them, that their present suffering was the end of the story.1:30 And into that despair, God speaks a word of profound reassurance.1:36 He says, I have not forgotten you.1:39 I am still at work.1:40 And I have a plan.1:42 Here's what that means if you're feeling a little lost today.1:47 First, notice the certainty in His voice.1:51 "For I KNOW the plans I have for you." It’s not "I'm thinking about it" or "I might have a plan." It is a settled fact.2:01 There is a divine, sovereign blueprint that has your name on it.2:06 Your life is not a random series of events.2:10 It is a story being written by a master author.2:14 And what is the nature of this plan?2:17 The verse is very specific.2:19 "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you." That word, "prosper," is so important.2:26 In the original Hebrew, it’s the word ‘shalom’.2:31 We often translate it as peace, but it’s so much more than that.2:36 Shalom means wholeness, completeness, well-being, safety, soundness.2:42 It’s the state of things being exactly as they ought to be.2:47 So, God’s plan for you is a plan for your ultimate shalom.2:52 For your deep and lasting well-being.2:55 This doesn't mean you'll never face hardship.2:59 The people listening to Jeremiah were still in exile.3:03 Their circumstances didn't change overnight.3:07 But the promise changed their perspective on their circumstances.3:13 It meant that the pain they were in was NOT the goal of God's plan.3:19 It was not their final destination.3:22 And that is a powerful truth for your day today.3:26 Whatever difficulty you might be facing, whatever feels broken or painful… that is not God’s plan to harm you.3:35 It is not the end of your story.3:38 It is a scene, but it is not the conclusion.3:42 The promise is that God will weave even this—even this—into a tapestry that leads to your ultimate good, to your shalom.3:52 And that leads to the final, beautiful part of the promise.3:57 "Plans to give you hope and a future." Hope, in the Bible, is not just wishful thinking.4:05 It’s not crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.4:09 It is a confident expectation in a guaranteed outcome.4:14 It is the anchor for your soul.4:17 Because you know God has a plan for your shalom, you can have hope, RIGHT now.4:23 And a future.4:24 This means today is not the end.4:27 Tomorrow is coming.4:29 And the God who holds you today will be holding you then, too.4:34 So as you look at the day ahead… at the meetings, the errands, the conversations, the worries… know this.4:43 You are not just walking into a series of tasks.4:47 You are walking into a day that is held within a divine, loving plan.4:53 A plan designed for your good.4:56 A plan that guarantees you a future, and gives you a reason for hope.5:02 So take a deep breath.5:03 You can face the uncertainty of this day with a quiet confidence.5:09 The Architect of the universe has good intentions for you.5:14 Your future is secure.5:16 Your hope is real.5:17 You are held.
