0:00 Donald Trump announced on May 25th that any peace deal with Iran comes with a price tag — Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan must establish diplomatic ties with Israel.0:12 He's linking the end of a hundred-day war to the expansion of the Abraham Accords.0:18 That's not diplomacy...0:20 that's leverage.0:21 Here's what else is reshaping the global order right now.0:26 The Iran conflict has passed its hundredth day.0:29 US military strikes continue — a helicopter went down just this week — even as Trump claims Washington and Tehran are on the verge of signing a peace agreement.0:42 Iran hasn't confirmed any final decision.0:45 So you've got active combat, peace talk headlines, and a demand that three Gulf states normalize relations with Israel before anything gets signed.0:56 The fragility here is obvious.0:58 China tightened its grip on the global economy back in October 2025, and most people are only now realizing what happened.1:07 Beijing rolled out export controls on rare earth elements and the processing technology that turns them into magnets, batteries, semiconductors — the guts of every supply chain that matters.1:22 The Council on Foreign Relations put it bluntly: China can bring large segments of the global economy to a standstill.1:31 Not theoretically.1:32 They've done it.1:34 The US and China are trying to manage this through dialogue — Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping have four summits scheduled for 2026.1:43 The framework is "managed coexistence," a bipolar world where both sides try to de-risk confrontation.1:51 But unresolved structural issues — Taiwan, technology restrictions — sit under every handshake.1:59 Europe is caught in the middle, facing its own fight with Beijing over industrial overcapacity.2:06 Chinese electric vehicles, wind components, solar panels, semiconductors — flooding European markets at prices that undercut local production.2:17 New trade measures and procurement restrictions are coming in 2026.2:22 France's foreign minister warned that Europe risks being dragged into a US-China confrontation or forced to pick sides.2:31 Neither option is appealing.2:33 And in Latin America, the US just made an extraordinary move — the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.2:42 That's not a diplomatic note.2:44 That's a signal.2:45 Washington is intensifying its influence across the region, pushing for market-friendly policies and security reforms as Latin America shifts rightward.2:57 Now, back to China's rare earth stranglehold.3:00 Here's why this matters more than the headlines suggest.3:04 Nearly every critical mineral essential to modern technology — lithium, cobalt, rare earths — flows through Chinese-controlled supply chains.3:15 The October 2025 export controls didn't just restrict raw materials.3:20 They restricted access to the processing technology.3:24 You can mine rare earths in Australia or the US, but if you can't process them into usable components, you're stuck.3:33 And China controls that step.3:35 This isn't a trade dispute.3:37 It's a structural power shift.3:40 Beijing can now selectively choke off industries in rival economies without firing a shot.3:46 The EU and US are scrambling to build alternative supply chains, but that takes years.3:53 In the meantime, every semiconductor fab, every EV battery plant, every wind turbine manufacturer is vulnerable.4:01 The Iran war has accelerated this fragmentation.4:05 Energy markets are in chaos — European governments are preparing for fuel shortages, Lufthansa is cutting flights, developing economies are watching food and fuel costs spike.4:18 The conflict has lasted over a hundred days with no end in sight, and it's reshaping Middle East geopolitics while exposing how quickly global systems can fracture under pressure.4:32 Trump's demand that Gulf states join the Abraham Accords before any Iran peace deal gets signed is a bet that he can use the war's exhaustion to redraw the regional map.4:45 But Iran hasn't confirmed any final decision, and US strikes continue.4:50 So you've got a ceasefire framework that depends on three countries making diplomatic moves they haven't agreed to, while bombs are still falling.5:01 Mark Carney, Canada's prime minister, called this era "variable geometry" — middle powers stepping up to lead as the US adopts a more nationalist, transactional foreign policy.5:15 The old alliances still exist on paper, but the actual decision-making is fragmenting.5:21 You see it in Europe's struggle to respond to China.5:25 You see it in the Gulf states hedging between Washington and Beijing.5:31 You see it in Latin America's rightward shift and the US's willingness to detain a sitting president.5:38 The global order isn't collapsing.5:41 It's being renegotiated in real time — not in grand summits, but through export licenses, ceasefire conditions, and who controls the minerals that power everything else.5:54 The balance of power is shifting, and the leverage isn't military anymore.5:59 It's economic, it's technological, and it's already being deployed.
