0:00 Moonshot AI just dropped a two-point-eight TRILLION parameter coding model...0:05 and they're giving it away for free.0:07 Last week on the show, we talked about the challenge of sorting real game-changers from the hype machines.0:14 Well, this week, the signal is coming in so loud it’s shaking the windows.0:19 So here’s the weekly sweep.0:20 First, that monster model from Moonshot AI, called Kimi K3, is now open-weight.0:25 That means any developer, any company, can download it and build on top of one of the best coding AIs on the planet without paying a license fee.0:35 Then there's DeepSeek AI, which just hit General Availability.0:39 This is huge.0:40 It means their frontier-level AI, which already costs a fraction of the big guys, is now stable, reliable, and ready for serious business use.0:49 No more beta weirdness or breaking changes.0:52 Microsoft also rolled out a new AI security architecture that’s just… smart.0:57 It uses smaller, cheaper AI models for simple threats and saves the big, expensive ones for the serious attacks.1:04 It’s a simple idea that could make top-tier AI security affordable for everyone.1:09 And finally, on the world stage, China launched WAICO — the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization — with 29 founding countries like Russia, Pakistan, and Nigeria.1:21 It’s a clear move to create a non-Western bloc for AI governance.1:25 Okay, let's zoom in on the two big model drops, because they tell a single, powerful story.1:31 You've got DeepSeek making its top-tier model stable and cheap, and Moonshot AI open-sourcing a behemoth.1:38 For the last couple of years, the AI narrative has been simple: bigger is better, and the biggest models live in a handful of fortresses in Silicon Valley, accessible only through a very expensive API.1:51 This week is the sound of the fortress walls starting to crumble.1:55 This isn't just about a new product.1:58 This is a pattern we've seen before.2:00 Remember when software meant buying a license from Microsoft for a ridiculous amount of money?2:06 And then Linux came along.2:08 It was free.2:08 It was a mess sometimes.2:10 It required you to know what you were doing.2:13 But it gave developers POWER.2:15 It created a whole new ecosystem that wasn't controlled by one company.2:19 That's what's happening right now with AI.2:22 The release of Kimi K3 as an open-weight model is that Linux moment.2:27 It says to every developer and every startup: you don't have to pay the toll to the giants anymore.2:33 Here are the keys to a state-of-the-art engine.2:36 Go build whatever you want.2:38 And DeepSeek going GA?2:39 That's the other side of the same coin.2:42 It's for the businesses that don't want to build the engine themselves, but are tired of the insane, unpredictable costs of the big API providers.2:51 DeepSeek is offering a professionally managed, stable, and—most importantly—AFFORDABLE alternative.2:58 So what does it all add up to?3:00 It means the era of the AI monolith is ending.3:03 Competition is no longer just about who has the most parameters.3:07 It’s now about access, cost, and control.3:10 And let's be brutally honest here.3:12 Open-source isn't a silver bullet.3:14 Running a 2.8 trillion parameter model takes a staggering amount of computing power and expertise.3:20 It's not something you just download to your laptop.3:24 But for other AI companies, for researchers, for entire nations...3:28 it's a declaration of independence.3:30 Which, by the way, is exactly what WAICO is on a geopolitical scale.3:35 It's the same pattern: if you feel locked out of the main room, you don't just knock on the door—you build your own room, with your own rules.3:44 This week sets up a fundamental fracture in the AI world.3:48 We're moving from a single, dominant ecosystem to a multi-polar world with competing stacks of technology and competing philosophies of governance.3:57 The question is no longer "who will build the one AI to rule them all?" The question now is "how many different AIs will there be, and who will they answer to?" The future of AI isn't going to be a monologue from one corner of the world.4:13 It’s going to be an argument.
