0:00 Secretary of State Marco Rubio just declared Operation Epic Fury is over.0:05 After one hundred days of sustained strikes, the U.S.0:10 military campaign against Iran has officially ended.0:14 Yesterday, we reported Hezbollah rejected a conditional ceasefire in Lebanon.0:20 Today, the entire strategic picture has shifted.0:24 The United States is not just pausing, it is claiming victory.0:29 Here are the headlines that matter now.0:32 One: Operation Epic Fury is terminated.0:35 Secretary Rubio’s words.0:37 The sustained air campaign inside Iran is finished.0:41 Two: President Trump simultaneously announced a pause on “Project Freedom,” the massive U.S.0:49 naval operation in the Strait of Hormuz.0:52 A clear signal of de-escalation.0:55 Three: The U.S.0:56 House just voted to block the war.0:59 The final tally was 215-to-208.1:01 Four Republicans joined Democrats in a direct challenge to the president’s military authority.1:09 Four: That resolution is already dead.1:12 It faces a near-impossible path in the Senate and a guaranteed veto from President Trump.1:19 No war powers resolution has ever overridden a presidential veto.1:24 Five: The bill for this war is coming due.1:28 The Pentagon’s official cost has reached twenty-nine billion dollars.1:33 Independent analysts say the real total is between forty and fifty billion.1:39 Six: The Navy is sounding the alarm.1:42 The Chief of Naval Operations warned last month that without supplemental funding, training freezes and personnel holds will begin by July.1:53 The budget was not built for this fight.1:57 Seven: There are two versions of the peace talks.2:01 President Trump says negotiations are going “very well.” Iran’s Foreign Minister says there has been “no tangible progress.” Eight: Iran has laid out its price for a deal.2:14 It's not just about their nuclear program.2:18 They demand an end to the war in Lebanon and a halt to all regional tensions.2:24 Nine: Hezbollah is not cooperating.2:27 The Iranian-backed militia flatly rejected a ceasefire with Israel, vowing to continue attacks as long as Lebanese villages are threatened.2:38 Ten: And the most important fact on the ground—the Strait of Hormuz, the artery for twenty percent of the world’s oil, remains closed.2:49 So what does “over” actually mean?2:52 Secretary Rubio defined victory by a military checklist: Iran’s defense industrial base destroyed, its missile launchers reduced, its conventional navy and air force eliminated.3:06 By those metrics, the Pentagon can claim success.3:10 But on the ground, and in the water, the story is different.3:15 California Representative Sara Jacobs put it bluntly: “You can rename this operation, but that does not change the fact that the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and that my troops… are still in danger.” The diplomatic front is just as fractured.3:35 President Trump projects total confidence, promising the Strait will reopen “immediately” upon signing a deal.3:44 He says, quote, “We’ve already had our mine sweepers there.” But Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, tells a completely different story.3:55 He says there’s no real progress.3:58 He laid out preconditions that go far beyond Iran itself—demanding an end to the war in Lebanon first.4:06 And Hezbollah, Iran's most powerful proxy, just rejected a ceasefire there.4:12 They are still firing rockets into northern Israel.4:16 This isn't a simple negotiation between two countries.4:20 It's an attempt to settle a multi-front regional conflict where America’s adversaries do not agree that the fight is finished.4:31 The cost of this war is now being counted.4:34 Nearly fifty billion dollars, by some estimates.4:38 A Navy budget stretched to its breaking point.4:42 And a constitutional fight over war powers brewing in Congress.4:47 The White House wanted to project strength and finality today.4:52 But declaring a war over and actually ending it are two very different things.4:58 Operation Epic Fury has a new name.5:01 It's called de-escalation.5:03 But for the sailors in the Persian Gulf, and for the global economy waiting on the oil, the mission looks exactly the same.5:13 Washington has declared peace.5:15 The Strait of Hormuz remains a blockade.
