1:31
In corporate news, Nvidia announced a major partnership with Corning.
1:37
The deal includes building three new fiber optics plants and a 500 million dollar stock purchase, a significant bet on the future of high-speed infrastructure.
1:48
And in a major legal decision, a federal court permanently blocked the Department of Labor’s new overtime rule.
1:56
The rule would have raised the minimum salary for overtime exemption to over fifty-eight thousand dollars.
2:04
A group called the New Civil Liberties Alliance argued it would eliminate jobs and flexible schedules for millions of workers.
2:13
The court agreed.
2:15
Now, let's return to that one-page proposal in Tehran.
2:19
The document is a memorandum of understanding.
2:22
It is not a comprehensive peace treaty.
2:25
Its primary purpose is to de-escalate the immediate crisis.
2:29
If Iran agrees, the U.S.
2:31
would begin to lift its blockade on Iranian ports and coordinate the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
2:39
Detailed negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program would follow, but only after the shooting stops and the oil starts flowing again.
2:48
The market reaction was immediate and decisive.
2:52
A ten percent drop in oil prices shows traders betting that peace is imminent.
2:57
But the reality on the water tells a different story.

3:06

Only two ships have risked the passage.
3:23
The rest remain at anchor.
3:25
They are aware that the strait is narrow, and that Iran's missile and drone capabilities have not disappeared.

This is the fundamental disconnect.

Financial markets operate on information and expectation.
3:40
A trader in New York sees a headline about a peace framework and sells.
3:45
The risk is calculated in dollars and cents.
