0:00 The Federal Reserve just moved its timeline for a rate hike up by two full months.0:04 In yesterday's episode, we talked about that IPO surge.0:07 This move from the Fed is the reason that party just stopped.0:10 The cheap money era is officially over, and it ended this morning.0:13 Here's what else is moving.0:15 A new Super PAC just dropped a nine-figure ad buy across Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.0:20 That's one hundred million dollars hitting the airwaves in the next seventy-two hours, all aimed at one issue: inflation.0:26 The Supreme Court handed down a five-four decision gutting key provisions of the Digital Services Act.0:31 The majority opinion argues the law's content moderation rules amount to compelled speech.0:36 Tech stocks are up on the news, but the legal fight is just beginning.0:39 The Justice Department just blocked the fifteen billion dollar merger between pharma giants Northfield and PRC.0:45 Antitrust chief Miller said the deal would create a monopoly in oncology treatments.0:50 Northfield's stock is down seventeen percent in pre-market trading.0:53 In California, Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency as the Sierra fire crossed the one-million-acre mark.0:59 It's the earliest in the year that threshold has EVER been breached.1:03 The White House announced a surprise policy shift on the southern border, reinstating a version of the "Remain in Mexico" program for asylum seekers from three Central American countries, effective immediately.1:14 On the supply side, the Port of Long Beach announced its container backlog is finally at zero.1:18 They're crediting a new AI-driven logistics platform that went live just six weeks ago.1:23 A bipartisan data privacy bill, long thought dead, just got a powerful new cosponsor in Senator Marks.1:28 It now has a filibuster-proof majority.1:30 A floor vote is expected next week.1:32 Tensions are escalating over the Colorado River.1:35 Arizona just formally triggered the dispute resolution clause of the water compact, accusing California of taking more than its share for the third year running.1:43 And finally, NASA's Artemis Three mission just successfully docked with the Gateway lunar station.1:48 It's a critical milestone for putting astronauts back on the moon by 2028.1:52 Okay, let's go back to the two biggest stories of the day, because they are not separate stories.1:57 The Fed's announcement and that hundred-million-dollar ad buy are two sides of the SAME coin.2:02 Here's the thing.2:03 The Fed doesn't make decisions in a vacuum.2:05 Officially, they are independent.2:07 They serve a dual mandate: stable prices and maximum employment.2:10 But their timeline just changed.2:12 Not by a little, but by a lot.2:13 They pulled a September decision into July.2:15 Why?2:16 Because the inflation numbers they're seeing internally are WORSE than the public data.2:20 They know a political firestorm is coming, and they decided to act NOW.2:24 They tried to get ahead of it.2:25 They failed.2:26 That nine-figure ad buy wasn't planned last night.2:29 It was sitting there, ready to go.2:30 The moment the Fed's statement hit the wire, someone pushed a button.2:34 The ads are already produced.2:36 They feature families at the gas pump, families at the grocery store.2:39 The message is brutally simple: your wallet is lighter, and it's their fault.2:43 This is the new political playbook.2:45 It's not about debating policy anymore.2:47 It's about weaponizing economic anxiety faster than the other side can react.2:51 The PAC behind this, American Prosperity Now, isn't targeting the White House.2:55 They're targeting three specific Senate seats.2:57 They've done the math.2:59 They know that if you can hang inflation around the neck of the party in power just before the midterms, you can flip the entire agenda.3:06 So what you have is the Federal Reserve making what it sees as a necessary, if painful, economic correction.3:11 And you have a political machine that has been waiting for this exact moment to turn that correction into a cudgel.3:17 They aren't just reporting the news; they are creating the narrative around the news in real time, with overwhelming force.3:24 This isn't a debate.3:25 It's an ambush.3:26 The Fed wanted to be the adult in the room, making the tough call.3:29 Instead, they just fired the starting gun for the midterm elections.
