0:00 An explosion at Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City has killed twelve Indian nationals.0:06 Yesterday's briefing touched on the seismic political shifts happening at home, and today, those tremors are continuing alongside this breaking international tragedy.0:19 India's External Affairs Minister, Doctor S.0:23 Jaishankar, has now issued the first official response, calling the event "very unfortunate." Here are the other key developments.0:33 In Maharashtra, the crisis within the Shiv Sena has reached a new peak.0:38 Six more Members of Parliament loyal to Uddhav Thackeray have just defected to the Eknath Shinde faction.0:47 This move prompted Shinde to declare that “Operation Tiger is complete,” signaling he believes he has consolidated his control over the party.0:58 In response, Uddhav Thackeray has stated he is ready to quit his post as the party chief if the remaining members lack trust and faith in his leadership.1:10 This puts the future of one of Maharashtra's most powerful political dynasties directly in question.1:17 Elsewhere in politics, the BJP’s Punjab unit is now openly keeping its alliance options open with the Shiromani Akali Dal.1:27 This signals a major strategic rethink ahead of upcoming elections and could reshape the state's political landscape.1:36 And in Karnataka, after more than four hundred and seventy days of farmer protests, Chief Minister D.K.1:44 Shivakumar has invited former CM H.D.1:47 Kumaraswamy for talks on the controversial Bidadi township project.1:52 On the business front, there are two major capital moves.1:57 First, Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio Platforms has filed the regulatory papers for its Initial Public Offering.2:05 The company is aiming to raise approximately three point eight billion dollars, which could make it India’s largest-ever telecom listing.2:16 Second, JSW Infrastructure has launched a placement to raise up to seven thousand five hundred and three crore rupees, earmarking the funds for expansion and debt repayment.2:29 And a quick look at the markets.2:32 They showed a positive trend on Monday, with the Nifty closing above twenty-four thousand one hundred, recovering from some recent dips.2:43 Finally, Prime Minister Modi has disbursed twenty-four hundred crore rupees under a government employment scheme, benefiting about fifteen lakh people.2:54 Let's return to the two most significant stories of the day.2:59 First, the tragedy in Qatar.3:01 The explosion happened at one of the world's largest liquefied natural gas, or LNG, complexes.3:09 The twelve Indian nationals were killed during a restart operation at the facility.3:15 This isn't just a number; it's a dozen families back in India who received the worst possible news today.3:23 External Affairs Minister Jaishankar has confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Doha is now, in his words, "actively engaged with Qatari officials." The immediate priority is providing all necessary assistance to the families of the victims.3:42 What's different today is that the Indian government has now stepped in officially, moving this from a corporate accident to an international incident requiring diplomatic support.3:56 Now, back to the political drama in Maharashtra.4:00 Eknath Shinde’s declaration that “Operation Tiger is complete” is more than just a soundbite.4:07 It’s a claim of total victory in a long and bitter fight for control of the Shiv Sena.4:14 By bringing these six MPs into his camp, he believes he has decisively broken the back of the faction loyal to the Thackeray family.4:24 The contrast with Uddhav Thackeray's statement couldn't be sharper.4:29 His offer to quit as party chief is a final, high-stakes appeal to loyalty.4:35 He's essentially asking his remaining party members to choose, once and for all, between him and the rebels.4:44 Here’s the core of it: one man is declaring the war is over, while the other is asking his soldiers if they still believe in the cause.4:54 For the first time, the complete collapse of the Thackeray-led Sena is not just a possibility, but an immediate risk.5:03 Today's events force a sharp focus on leadership—both in responding to unforeseen tragedy abroad, and in navigating political crises at home.5:14 The measure of that leadership is being taken right now, in Doha and in Mumbai.
